To provide a print unit which makes prints without strongly curving recording paper, and to provide a thermal printer.SOLUTION: A print unit 10 includes: a platen roller 51 which transports recording paper P; a thermal head 41 which makes pressure contact with a peripheral surface of the platen roller 51 to make prints on the recording paper P; and a paper guide part 20 which inserts the recording paper P toward a print area 100 of the thermal head 41 from an acute angle direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
