PURPOSE: To obtain a beautiful printed fabric for imitation rush mat suitable for matting, etc., at a low cost by passing drawn thermoplastic resin tapes through a hot member having a narrow gap, weaving the obtained collected material and printing with a sublimable dye by transfer printing.

CONSTITUTION: A printed fabric 12 for imitation rush mat is produced by drawing a thermoplastic resin (preferably composed of 80-95% of polyolefin and 5-20% of polycarbonate) in longitudinal direction passing the obtained tapes through a hot member 9 having a narrow gap (preferably a gap diameter of 1.0-1.5mm) to obtain an irregularly collected imitation rush (preferably having a diameter of 1.5-3.0 mm and a filling ratio of 15-50%), weaving the imitation rush 6 and printing the surface of the woven fabric by using a transfer paper printed with a sublimable dye.
