To provide a printed wiring board for mounting optical module on which the mounting area is not reduced, external optical fibers can be attached and detached with high workability, and the optical fibers are not damaged.
A printed wiring board 2 for mounting optical module is provided with a front plate 10 attached to the board 2, a window 11 through which optical fibers connected to an optical module 3 are led to the front side of a shelf, and adapter holder plate 40 vertically provided on the front side of the plate 10, an optical adapter 20 mounted on the plate 40, and a fiber engaging plate 20 fixed to the plate 10. The plate 50 has a fiber supporting hole through which an external optical fiber 25 is loosely passed and a groove one end of which is opened to the outside and the other end of which is communicated with the fiber supporting hole. The adapter 20 has openings on both sides and an optical connector 21 attached to the end sections of the fibers 5 is detachably inserted into one opening of the adapter 20. Another optical connector 22 attached to the end section of the external optical fiber 25 is detachably inserted into the other opening of the adapter 20.
