PURPOSE: To prevent occurrence of printing trouble caused by the curling of following recording paper by providing an automatic paper feeding mechanism to feed the following recording paper to a platen only when printing data exist in a host computer.

CONSTITUTION: Printing data is inputted to a microcomputer from a host computer 14 as A/D signal, and a printing head 3 and a drive motor 11 for platen roller are driven at printing data signal to print paper. If printing data still exists when printing of the first paper has been completed, the microcomputer 15 outputs a control signal to each motor 11, 12, so that the following paper is set at a printing position on the platen roller 4. If printing data does not exist when printing of the preceding paper has been completed and ejected, the microcomputer 15 outputs a control signal to command each motor 11, 12 to stop the driving motion, thus suspending the feeding of the following paper to the platen roller.
