To provide a printer capable of performing a printing operation in reflecting the setting of an image color-processing which simply realizes a favorite color even for users not so familiar with the image color-processing.

The printer is equipped with an image-data reading means 6001 which reads the image data recorded in a recording medium installed in a recording medium installing section 4001, an image analyzing means 6006 which analyzes the image data, a color-processing parameter determining means 6007 which determines the color-processing parameter for applying the color processing of the image data recorded in the recording medium, a color processing means 6005 which applies two or more kinds of color processing to the image data stored in the recording medium and an output means (printer engine) which outputs as samples two or more kinds of image data to which the above color processing has been applied. If the image to be printed is a bright one, many samples approaching to a dark direction are prepared. If the image to be printed is a dark one, many samples approaching to a bright direction are prepared.
