To provide a printer for properly making printing on a tile, and a printing method.
A printer 12 is provided with: a head 3 having a discharge port to discharge photo-curing fine ink droplets for a tile 9 in an inkjet system; a head moving mechanism 4 and a tile carrying mechanism 2 which move the head 3 relatively to the tile 9 while keeping a distance between the discharge port and the tile 9 constant; and an ink-curer 51 to irradiate light. An auxiliary curer 32 to irradiate light is provided in the head 3. When printing on the tile 9 is made, the head 3 sequentially discharges fine ink droplets for the tile 9 while moving against the tile 9. Ink attached onto the tile 9 is temporarily cured by receiving light from the auxiliary curer 32. When the ink discharging from the head 3 is finished, the tile 9 moves below the ink curer 51, and the ink is permanently cured by the ink curer 51.
