Abstract:
To provide a printer and a printing method that can improve adhesion between a base material and a photo-curable ink.
The printer 1 carrying out printing by applying the photo-curable ink to the light transmitting base material through which light is transmitted, includes a printing part 20 including a liquid drop ejection head 22 for applying a UV ink to the base material 10, and a UV light irradiation device 30 for irradiating the UV ink applied by the printing part 20, with ultraviolet rays to cure the UV ink. The UV irradiation device 30 is disposed not to face the printing part 20 but on the side opposite to the printing part 20 with the arranged position of the base material 10 held in between.
