Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer, a supply device of a rolled record medium, and a method and a program for deriving a residual amount of said medium, which are suitable to derive a residual amount of a rolled record medium by a simple method, while preventing damage to the medium.SOLUTION: A printer 4 includes: retention means for retaining a rolled record medium; transport means for transporting the medium; image forming means; first roll-out control means for rolling out the medium by rotating a rotation shaft of the retention means at a first rotation speed when a tension roller 12 reaches a first position; second roll-out control means for stopping rotation of the rotation shaft, or rotating at a second rotation speed, of the retention means when the tension roller 12 reaches a second position; and derivation means for deriving a residual amount of the medium on the basis of: time or speed of the tension roller 12 moving from the first to second positions; or time or the number of times of the tension roller reciprocating between the first and second positions.
