The printer comprises a print mode DB 108 storing an ID code indicative of the source of print data and print setting corresponding to the ID code, a print control section 106 acquiring the ID code of the source upon receiving the print data and then acquiring a print mode corresponding to the acquired ID code from the print mode DB 108, and a print section 104 executing print operation based on the print data according to a print mode acquired at the print control section 106.
