This printer is provided with a mechanism for determining the acquirement or nonacquirement of the log information by a value in the predetermined area of an EEPROM of a printhead, and for recording the result of that determination in the EEPROM of the head. The printer is also provided with a means for copying the contents of the EEPROM of a printer body via the printhead, and writing them into the other printers.
