To provide a printer capable of preventing jam of printing paper W even during restart after a power source is interrupted, without additionally providing a detector to it.
The printer includes: a first printing section 4 for performing printing; a paper feed sensor 34 for detecting the printing paper W supplied to the first printing section 4; an inversion and storage section 10 for inverting and storing the printing paper W; a paper ejecting section 11 for ejecting the inverted and stored printing paper W onto a paper ejection table; a paper ejection sensor 116 for detecting printing paper W ejected by the paper ejecting section 11; an inversion and storage information storage section 14 having a nonvolatile storage medium and used for storing inversion and storage information generated on the basis of a detection result obtained by the paper feed sensor 34 and paper ejection sensor 116; a determining section 20a for determining, on the basis of the inversion and storage information, whether the printing paper W is stored in the inversion and storage section 10, when the power source of a both-sided stencil printer 1 is turned on; and an equipment control section 20b for causing the ejecting section 11 to eject printing paper W stored in the inversion and storage section 10, when a determination is made that the printing paper W has been stored.
