Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent or suppress skew of a recording medium in a printer.SOLUTION: A printer 1 includes: a printing section 20 (printing head 21) which rides on a printing surface of a booklet-like sheet 200 (one example of a recording medium), performs printing and is scanned in a fixed direction; pairs of conveyance rollers 13 and 14 which hold the sheet 200, convey the sheet in a direction Y orthogonal to a direction X in which the printing head 21 is scanned, and are arranged on each of an upstream side and a downstream side in the direction Y in which the sheet 200 is conveyed with respect to the printing head 21; and a control section 40 which controls scanning speed of the printing head 21 so that scanning speed when the printing head 21 rides on the sheet 200 is made slower than scanning speed when the sheet 200 is held by the two pairs of conveyance rollers 13 and 14 when the sheet 200 is held by only the one pair of conveyance rollers 13 or the one pair of conveyance rollers 14 of the pair of conveyance rollers 13 arranged on the upstream side and the pair of conveyance rollers 14 arranged on the downstream side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
