Abstract:
To provide a technique which shortens the processing time required from reception of a printing job to completion of printing in a printer.SOLUTION: A printer 1 comprises a first controller 10 including a first core 11 and a second core 12. The first core 11 analyzes reception data and outputs a RIP request to the second core 12 when RIP processing by the second core 12 is necessary. The second core 12 analyzes the reception data in response to the RIP request and outputs a filing request to the first core 11 when a head character of PDF is detected in the reception data. The first core 11 files the reception data and writes the file to a memory 40 in response to the filing request and outputs file management information on the written file to the second core 12. The second core 12 reads the file from the memory 40 by using the input file management information and generates raster data by performing RIP processing based on the reception data indicated by the file.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
