To provide an excellent printer which can print the currency relative information, e.g. the currency unit display, a decimal point symbol, a location symbol, etc., in the modes desired by a user when an amount of currency of another country is converted and printed.
A printer 1 stores a text of characters, numeric characters, etc., that is inputted via the keys 6 in a RAM and converts a numeric character included in the text into the amount of currency of another country to print it. Then the relative information on the currency of another country is inputted to a prescribed position set against the numeric character data stored in the RAM by means of the keys 6. A CPU gives the information on each currency to the converted amount of currency when the numeric data stored in the RAM are converted as the amount of currency of a country into that of another country.
