PURPOSE: To smoothen the action of printing for reducing noise by accelerating the striking action of a striker in the direction of striking by moving selectively plural parts to be struck from non-printing position to near returning position within the amplitude of the striker.

CONSTITUTION: The coil 19 of a striking electromagnet 6 is electrically energized, and iron core 17 is moved by attraction in the direction of arrow A against the returning force of a plate spring 21, the rear end 11'A of parts 11' to be struck is struck by a striker 17A at the tip of the iron core 17, the parts 11' are flown in the direction of printing against the attraction of the coil 8' and the collided on a recording paper 2 through the returning position, and ink on an ink ribbon 4 is transferred to the recording paper 2. By this, an image shape matching the tip shape of the wire 12' is printed. On the other hand, when the iron core 17 advances most, a coupler 17B is provided at the rear end of the iron core 17 in such a way as to avoid the collision of the striker 17A on the parts 11 to be struck in the returning position, and the coupler 17B is coupled with the rear end of the yoke 20 regardless of the striking action in such a way as to avoid the striking of the parts 11 to be struck by the iron core 17.
