Abstract:

To suppress deterioration of printing quality when performing printing and cutting on a recording medium.SOLUTION: A control device 50 of a printer 100 includes: a printing control section 93 which performs printing on a printing region AR 1 of a recording medium 5; a cutting control section 94 which performs control to cut the recording medium 5 after finishing the printing on the printing region AR 1; a determination section 97 which determines whether the printing region AR 1 of the recording medium 5 is located below a center pinch roller 72 after the recording medium 5 is cut; a medium moving section 98 which moves the recording medium 5 in a sub-scanning direction X up to a position where the printing region AR 1 is not located below the center pinch roller 72 when the printing region AR 1 is located below the center pinch roller 72; and a lifting control section 99 which controls a lifting mechanism 85 so as to lower the center pinch roller 72 after the recording medium 5 is moved by the medium moving section 98.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
