Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus which can obtain a result of judgement close to a result of visual judgement by a human being in judging deviation of a printing position when the printing position of a print on the second half is adjusted that of a print on the first half is adjusted, and a method for adjusting position in bidirectional printing.
SOLUTION: An inkjet printer 4 detects a difference of a density amplitude value (an amplitude difference value C) from an AD value (density data), and judges a best examination pattern based on data for judgement in which the maximum value (the maximum value of the amplitude difference) is set among a plurality of the amplitude difference values Cj. The maximum value of the amplitude difference among the amplitude difference values is proportional to the maximum amount of the deviation (the maximum value of the amount of deviation of the recording position). Therefore, by judging the examination pattern where the maximum value of the amplitude difference is the smallest to be the best examination pattern, even if the density data is a gradually changing examination pattern, it can be judged as the best examination pattern, to be able to obtain the result of judgement close to a sense of the human being.
