To obtain a printing apparatus which satisfactorily cleans paper conveying rollers contaminated by adhesion of ink, without the need of adding any mechanical configuration.

The printing apparatus 1 includes: a first printing means 3 to print on one surface of paper P; a second printing means 5 to print on one or the other surface of the paper P; and a conveying means to convey the paper P to the second printing means 5, which includes the conveying rollers 82 and 83. A control means controlling the operation of driving sources M1 and M2 for driving the conveying rollers 82 and 83 is provided to the printing apparatus 1. The control means is configured to select any of a first conveyance control for normal printing and a second conveyance control dedicated for cleaning the conveying rollers 82 and 83, and control the operation of the driving sources M1 and M2.
