To stably mount printing cylinder sleeves having widely changing different outer diameters and to easily replace the printing cylinders by providing hollow journal parts to both ends of a printing cylinder sleeve and holding them in a bearing block during the operation of a printing press.
A printing cylinder sleeve 10 having a longitudinal cross section is pref. formed of a metal and mounted on a shaft 12 in a freely replaceable manner. The central part of the sleeve 10 is constituted like a hollow cylindrical drum 14 and a printing plate is mounted on the outer peripheral surface of the sleeve 10. The drum 14 is mounted on the same shaft at the respective end parts thereof by the hollow journal parts 16 fixed to both end walls of the drum. The respective journal parts 16 are inserted into roller bearings 18 and the bearings are supported within bearing blocks 20. Bearing covers 22 are fixed on the bearing blocks to surround the roller bearings 18 to hold them at predetermined positions.
