The printing device 1 drives an upstream side driving motor 32 and a downstream side driving motor 31 together and continuously conveys a plurality of the printing media P on a paper feed tray 2. A calculating means 43 calculates a conveying amount of an upstream side conveying roller 11 or a downstream side conveying roller 14 after a new printing medium P is detected by a sensor 36 between the upstream side conveying roller 11 and the downstream side conveying roller 14. A storage means 70 stores data 71 regarding a prescribed control start position between the upstream side conveying roller 11 and the sensor 36. Processing instruction means 52, 53 and 54 execute inter-page control for only driving the downstream side driving motor 31 in a conveying amount corresponding to a prescribed inter-paper distance B when the printing medium P subsequent to the forehand printing medium is determined to be in the control start position based on the calculated conveying amount.
