Abstract:
To improve convenience on detection of a type of a medium to be printed mounted on a printing device.SOLUTION: A printing device (1) includes: a mounting part (150) on which a storage container (30) in which a medium (3) to be printed is stored can be mounted; a detection part (125, 114) for detecting electrostatic capacity or a change in the electrostatic capacity provided so as to be opposed to at least a part of the storage container mounted on the mounting part; and a control part (120) for, when the storage container is mounted on the mounting part, determining a kind of the storage container mounted on the mounting part or a kind of the medium to be printed stored in the storage container on the basis of the electrostatic capacity or a change in the electrostatic capacity detected by the detection part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
