Abstract:
To provide a printing device, a printing preparation method, and a printing preparation program capable of making the time to printing start shorter than before.SOLUTION: The printing device includes a supply unit, a printing unit, a conveyance unit, a tensioning unit, a conveyance drive unit, a control unit, and a media detection unit. The supply unit supplies a long piece of media. The printing unit prints an image on the media supplied by the supply unit. The conveyance unit conveys the media in a conveying direction from the supply unit to the printing unit and in a returning direction opposite to the conveying direction. The control unit controls the conveyance drive unit to convey the media in the conveyance direction and then performs a skew correction process in which tension is repeatedly applied to the media by the tensioning unit during the reciprocating conveying of the media in the return direction (S8 to S10). The control unit performs a detection process to detect an attribute of the media on the basis of the detection results output from the media detection unit during one of the plurality of reciprocating conveying operations (S9).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
