To provide a printing device capable of detecting jam in the vicinity of a paper delivery port even if a paper sheet is an OHP one by using a full-state detection sensor in place of a paper delivery sensor.

When the kind of a paper sheet is an OHP one, the paper sheet passes through a sensor, and the passage of the paper sheet cannot be detected by a paper delivery sensor 52, and there occurs a case that jam in the vicinity of the paper delivery sensor 52 cannot be detected. Thus, by using a full-state detection sensor 56 in place of the paper delivery sensor 52, jam in the vicinity of the paper delivery sensor 52 is detected. With regard to jam detection, it is determined that jam occurs if any paper sheet is not detected over a predetermined time by measuring a time before the paper sheet is detected by the paper delivery sensor 52 or the full-state detection sensor 56 after the paper sheet passes a resist sensor 32 of a conveying passage or the like.
