To provide a printing device that can suppress dirt of a device.SOLUTION: A printing device includes: a recording head part 401 serving as line type liquid discharge means for discharging liquid to a transported printing medium Md; and an ink recovery container 80 serving as an idle discharge container for receiving idly discharged liquid from a recording head part 401 while opposing to the printing medium Md and the recording head part 401.
