Abstract:
To perform printing without reducing a printing speed when a voltage lowers and a temperature lowers.SOLUTION: A printing device comprises: a thermal head 204 having a plurality of heating elements arranged on a line; a battery 210 for supplying the device with electric power; voltage measuring means that measures a voltage of the battery 210; temperature measuring means 210t that measures a temperature of the battery 210; voltage setting means that sets a printing startable voltage at which printing is possible, on the basis of the temperature measured by the temperature measuring means 210t; printing-possibility determining means that determines whether printing is possible by comparing the voltage measured by the voltage measuring means with the printing startable voltage; and heating element-number setting means that sets the number of the heating elements that are made to generate heat simultaneously. The heating element-number setting means sets the number of the heating element that are made to generate heat simultaneously, on the basis of the temperature measured by the temperature measuring means in a state where the printing possibility determining means determines that printing is possible.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
