Abstract:
To provide a printing device that can reduce an error determination time for movements of a carriage.SOLUTION: A printing device comprises a printing head configured to perform printing on a medium, a carriage mounted with the printing head, a power source that can move the carriage in a scanning direction. Power load values of the power source are obtained respectively for a plurality of control sections included in a section in which the power source is driven and controlled. In a state where the power source is driven and controlled, different thresholds can be set for the plurality of control sections respectively, on the basis of the power load values of the power source obtained respectively for the plurality of control sections. When the power source is driven and controlled, error determination is performed on the basis of a fact that the power load value of the power source exceeds the threshold set for a predetermined control section, in the predetermined control section of the plurality of control sections.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
