PURPOSE: To prevent indistinct printed letters and to eliminate necessity of prohibited area for printing on a paper by a method wherein, when a fold on the paper is detected, it is put between two rollers placed face to face which have a projection and a groove and pressed to reform the fold.
CONSTITUTION: In a path of the paper 7 to a transferring device 8 a pressing device 15 for reforming the fold is provided. The pressing device 15 has rollers 21a, 21b which have a projection and a groove in longitudinal direction, and is built so that each projection and each groove may engage and a fold detecting signal from a paper carrier 6 is received by a driving circuit 25, and a clutch 24 is energized and a driving device 22 is drived so that projections of rollers 21a, 21b and a fold on a paper 7 may match.
