Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device and printing method which have high printing accuracy.SOLUTION: A printing device is configured to discharge an ink in a predetermined pattern shape to a plate surface of a printing plate and then transfer the discharged ink in a predetermined pattern shape to a substrate. A mark as a reference of an ink droplet landing position is formed on the plate surface of the printing plate. The printing device includes: a rotatable plate cylinder which is provided with a printing plate; an image recording unit which discharges ink in a predetermined pattern shape to the plate surface of the printing plate from a plurality of nozzles in an ink jet method; a reading unit which acquires the position of the mark, position information of a plurality of droplet landing positions of ink discharged from the image recording unit to the mark, and obtains data on the difference between the position of the mark and the droplet landing positions of ink; and an adjustment unit which adjusts the discharge timing of the ink in the image recording unit on the basis of the data on the difference between the position of the mark and the droplet landing position of ink obtained by the reading unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
