Title:
PRINTING HAMMER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6270066
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce noise generated from a printing hammer itself and thereby reduce noise generated from a printer, by filling an inside part with a material having at least one of a sound-absorbing effect and a vibration-damping effect.

CONSTITUTION: A rubber 2 is poured into an inserting hole having a diameter (a) which is formed in a printing hammer 1 from the rear side, and the rubber is hardened. The rubber 2 may have a sound-absorbing effect and a vibration- damping effect, or may have one of the two effects. Where there is possibility of slipping-off of the rubber 2 from the main body of the printing hammer 1, an open end part of the hole filled with the rubber is plugged up with a guard piece 3. Since noise is reduced at a noise generating source itself by filling the hole with a appropriate material such as the rubber 2, there is no need for a sound-absorbing material of a sound-insulating material which has been adhered to a housing cover or the like in the prior art, and a smaller device can be contrived.
