Title:
PRINTING MACHINE HAVING PLATE CYLINDER PROVIDED WITH DEVICE FOR HOLDING PRINTING MASTER WITHOUT SLIPPAGE ON OUTER CYLINDRICAL SURFACE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3696948
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange a print carrier at a print position and to hold it perpetually during print process without causing a significant elongation by providing a removable form locking connection the surface of a form cylinder and a tangentially movable printing master for restraining movement of the master in one direction.
SOLUTION: A steep inclination flank 21 of negative structure 16 provided on the back of a printing master 5 abuts against the steep inclination flank of microstructure 27 on the cylinder surface 3 when a form cylinder turns in the direction of an arrow 23. Induced thrust of the master 5 is received by steep inclination flanks 19, 21 and no relative movement take place between the master 5 and the cylinder surface 3. Upon finishing print process, the form plate is turned easily when the master 5 is fed out in order to replace the printed part thereof. It is because the master 5 slides onto a gentle inclination flank 18 of the structure 27 on the underside thereof and the steep inclination flanks 19, 21 can not be engaged. The structure 27 thereby has a function similar to free wheel.
