Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance power saving performance and economy by eliminating waste of ink ribbon as much as possible.
SOLUTION: When a print section 5 is moved from a release position Xr to a set position Xs upon detection of a matter P being printed and carried by means of a sensor 2, winding of an ink ribbon 4 is started as the print section 5 is moved and the timing for starting winding is set later for a thinner matter P being printed. When the print section 5 is moved from the set position Xs to the release position Xr upon detection of the matter P being printed and carried by means of the sensor 2, winding of the ink ribbon 4 is stopped as the print section 5 is moved and the timing for stopping winding is set later for a thicker matter P being printed.
