Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing method using a line thermal head in which a ribbon tape is used effectively such that unused part is not left.
SOLUTION: After a ribbon tape 30 is fed out and printing 14 is effected at the print position 12 on a packaging film 10, the ribbon tape 30 is rewound by the length used for the printing 14. At the same time, the ribbon tape 30 is displaced in the widthwise direction as shown by an arrow 40 before print operation is resumed. According to the method, unused part of the ribbon tape 30 can be fully used in the widthwise direction.
