To provide a printing plate transport and storage device which is capable of transporting a printing plate to the upper printing unit of a rotary press comprising plural printing units stacked vertically and also storing the printing, and increasing an operating efficiency without the necessity to depend upon a manual labor for carrying the printing plate by an operator and with care for high working safety.
This printing plate transport and storage device is installed on a rotary press 1 having a lower working floor 3 and upper working floors 4, 5, corresponding to vertically stacked printing units 1a-1d, which are provided on the four surrounding sides. In addition, the device is equipped with an endless printing plate transport means 17 which transfers, circulating vertically from the lower working floor surface to the upper working floor surface with printing plates 30 borne at a specified interval, and a drive member 25 which transfers the printing plate transport means 17 in such a manner that the means 17 can be stopped to receive the printing plates transported by the means 17 at a stop position on the lower working floor surface and the upper working floor surface.
