Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the process for production of the aluminum flat pipe for heat exchangers capable of preventing the degradation in the strength of the flat pipe by corrosion and the generation of crack therein by preventing the chipping off of a Zn layer at the time of transporting the flat pipe and preventing the decrease in the thickness of the Al layer of the flat pipe after a heat treatment.
CONSTITUTION: The Zn layer is stuck by a Zn thermal spraying machine 10 to the outside surface of the aluminum flat pipe 15a right after hot extrusion molding by a conform extrusion molding machine 8. The aluminum flat pipe 15b stuck with the Zn layer is thereafter forcibly cooled down to ≤250°C by a water tank 14 in the state of applying tension thereto. The aluminum flat pipe 15c stuck with the Zn layer is then heat-treated to form the Zn diffused layer of a required thickness in the surface part of the Al layer, by which the Al layer and the Zn layer are tightly adhered to each other.
