To provide a printer giving a hard copy of high image quality even in a place where a commercial power source is not obtained or in a place where water is not readily obtained.
In the printer having a printer body in which a heat developable photosensitive material forming a visible image when an exposed latent image is heated is irradiated with exposure light showing an image, moisture is imparted to the exposed surface of the heat developable photosensitive material, the exposed surface is brought into contact with image receiving paper and an image formed by heating the heat developable photosensitive material is transferred to the image receiving paper, and forming an image by the transfer on the image receiving paper, the printer body comprises a fuel cell 40 which has a fuel electrode, an air electrode and a polyelectrolyte membrane, supplies a liquid fuel to the fuel electrode and discharges water from the air electrode, a water supply section 36 which imparts moisture to the exposed surface of a heat developable photosensitive material and a pump 48 which carries water discharged from the air electrode to the water supply section 36.
