The input device 5 of a tape printing system 100 at least has a keyboard 1 and a display screen 2, but is separated from a printer 4 having a thermal head 41, a head drive circuit 68 and the like. There are a plurality of types of keyboard 1 and display screen 2, and a plurality of types 5A-5H of input device 5 are obtained by combining one of a plurality of types of keyboard 1A and 1B, and one of a plurality of types of display screens 2A and 2B.
