Abstract:
To provide a printing system capable of suppressing a deterioration in printing quality and a reduction in productivity due to the control of a conveyance speed for reducing a difference in processing speeds between a printing apparatus and a post-processing machine.SOLUTION: A printing system, including a printing apparatus for delivering printing paper after printing to a post-processing machine, and a web buffer for temporarily holding the printing paper after printing, is provided with: a required printing time calculation unit 152 for calculating a required printing time PT for each job; an amount-of-increase/decrease calculation unit 153 for calculating an amount Z of an increase/decrease in buffer consumption per set for each job on the basis of a difference between a minimum processing time MT required for processing in the post-processing machine and the required printing time PT; a predicted value calculation unit 154 for obtaining a predicted value PV of the web buffer consumption by accumulating the amount Z of the increase/decrease; and a conveyance control unit 143 for controlling the conveyance speed of the printing paper on the basis of the predicted value PV.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
