Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system which sets a sheet thickness by using a measurement unit of a bookbinding device without extending the entire processing time with measurement processing.SOLUTION: A printing system 1 which comprises: a printer 100; and a bookbinding device 300 which is connected to the printer and performs case bookbinding with a front cover sheet on a bundle of text sheets printed by the printer. The bookbinding device comprises a measurement unit 404 which measures the thickness of the text sheet bundle that is the bundle of text sheets. The printer comprises: a control unit 200 which controls printing processing in accordance with the sheet thickness; a sheet thickness acquisition unit 208 which acquires the thickness of the text sheets calculated on the basis of the measured thickness of the text sheet bundle by instructing the bookbinding device to measure the thickness of the text sheet bundle when suspension occurs during printing of the text sheets; and a sheet thickness setting unit 210 which sets the thickness of the text sheets on the basis of the acquired thickness of the text sheets.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
