Abstract:

To enable a copyright owner to specify the use of every software depending on availability, and to allow the specified use.

An apparatus for controlling the use of software comprises a storage means for storing a pair of the software and right to use corresponding to at least either an execution method or secondary use of the software; and a means for using the software along the information of the right to use stored in the storage means, and is preferably constructed such that the information of the right to use is a program and the software can be used for executing the program. Moreover, the storage means preferably stores the copyright information for specifying the method of accessing the information of the right to use together with the software as a pair, and comprises a means for editing the information of the right to use along the copyright information stored in the storage means.
