Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process cartridge and an electrophotographic image forming apparatus in which both a developing member and a charging member can be separated from an electrophotographic photoreceptor if necessary by changing the swinging attitudes of a developing unit by applying force acting for separating the developing member, thereby making it possible to obtain, with a simple construction, a stable image free from unevenness or transversal streaks.
SOLUTION: The process cartridge is structured such that a developing member 40 and a charging member 2 are supported by a developing unit 4 and a photoreceptor unit 50, respectively. A separating mechanism disposed in the process cartridge for separating the charging member 2 from an electrophotographic photoreceptor 1 can be moved in conjunction with the separating operation of the developing member 40, and the developing unit 4 supporting the developing member 40 can take three different swinging attitudes.
