Abstract:

PURPOSE: To dimerize 3C and 4C olefins with high conversion rate and with a low selectivity for paraffins by utilizing the catalysts which can be easily prepared.

CONSTITUTION: A solid acid catalyst, supported or unsupported, comprised of an oxide of a group IVB element in the Periodic Table which is modified with sulfate or tungstate radical, is utilized to dimerize the feed streams containing 3C or 4C olefins.
