Title:
PROCESS FOR INHIBITING GENERATION OF AND REMOVING SCALE USING WATER BROUGHT INTO CONTACT WITH CERAMIC SINTERED COMPACT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11319886
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To prevent fuel or power wastes causing global warming by suppressing generation and deposition of scales and removing these through a process which has no risk of environmental pollution usually caused by chemical drug treatments.

A compact, obtained by sintering ceramics comprising natural stones mainly comprising silica and alumina through a special method, is brought into contact with water to impart water solubility to a portion of various kinds of scales to inhibit generation and deposition thereof, remove them and optionally remove malodor caused by deposited scales. Water which is brought into contact with this ceramic sintered compact has an ability to reduce the major portion or a portion of scales, which had been oxidized in the atmosphere and had become water-insoluble or difficultly soluble to water, to make them water-soluble again. Therefore, stuck scales which have just generated are immediately dissolved in water to inhibit their deposition.
