Title:
PROCESS FOR POLYMERIZING PROPYLENE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3242698
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To achieve a marked increase in the catalyst activity, reduction in the catalyst cost, reduction in the amount of catalyst residue in polypropylene products, a process excluding the deashing step, and streamline of the process in a polypropylene manufacturing process which employs a propylene feedstock containing FCC propylene.
CONSTITUTION: A propylene feedstock, which contains 5wt.% or more FCC propylene obtained by fluid catalytic cracking of heavy hydrocarbon oil, is polymerized by first contacting it with a complex of copper oxide and zinc oxide, or a complex of copper oxide, aluminum oxide and silicon oxide, and then with a catalyst system which comprises a solid catalyst component comprising Ti, Mg and halogen as the essential constituents, and an organoaluminum compound component, thereby providing 5000g or more of polymers per g of the solid catalyst component.
