Abstract:
To provide a process for preparation of a vinylidene chloride polymer in the presence of a reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) agent, where the RAFT agent is one of block components.SOLUTION: A process for preparation of a vinylidene chloride polymer comprises polymerizing vinylidene chloride under the control of a RAFT agent of formula (II). {In the formula, Ra is an organic group optionally substituted with one or more hydrophilic groups; -(H)n- represents at least one polymer chain formed by any mechanism; and Z represents optionally substituted alkoxy, optionally substituted aryloxy, optionally substituted heterocyclyl, or the like.SELECTED DRAWING: None
