To provide a process for producing an arylamine, particularly a diarylamine compound and a triarylamine compound useful as materials for electronic materials or intermediates thereof with extremely high purity at a low cost.

The process for producing a diarylamine or a triarylamine comprises subjecting a specific aromatic halogen compound and a specific aromatic amine compound to condensation reaction in the presence of a copper catalyst and a base, and a compound represented by formula (1) (wherein R23 is hydrogen or a predetermined substituent; R24 is hydrogen or a predetermined substituent; Z is oxygen or -N(R25)-; and R25 is an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic residue) is allowed to be present in the condensation reaction.
