Abstract:
To provide an epoxy compound by the process which also enables a continuous process comprising safely oxidizing acetaldehyde to obtain peracetic acid and successively producing the epoxy compound with the use of the peracetic acid in a high yield with a high selectivity.
Peracetic acid is produced by reacting acetaldehyde with an oxygen gas-containing gas with the use of a minute reactor and the above reaction is carried out in the presence of a solvent and/or a catalyst, and as the minute reactor, a microreactor or a cyclone type reactor is used. The epoxy compound is obtained by reacting the above peracetic acid with an olefin.
