PURPOSE: To provide an effective process for reclaiming a used vulcanized elastomer material by treating used rubber chips with a vulcanization accelerator and a specific activator to delink or decompose the vulcanized network.

CONSTITUTION: A used vulcanized elastomer material is kneaded together with at least one compd. having a vulcanization accelerator function and at least one activator capable of initiating proton exchange at 70°C or lower to thereby delink or decompose the vulcanized network of the material, giving a revulcanizable elastomer material. At least one compd. selected from among zinc dimethyldithiocarbamate, 2-mercaptobenzothiazole, N-cyclohexyl-2- benzothiazolesulfenamide, tetraethylthiuram disulfide, guanidine compds., zinc dibutyldithiophosphate, etc., is pref. as the above vulcanization accelerator.
