To obtain a fiber material capable of contributing to improve a belt life by reducing the frictional resistance of a fiber material in a transmission belt such as a toothed belt, V ribbed belt, V belt, flat belt, and the like, the whole or a part of the surfaces of which is coated with a fiber material and which are formed from a rubber compounded material.
This processed fiber material for transmission belts is obtained by soaking a non-processed fiber material in a first processing solution made by dispersing a powdery friction-reducing agent containing at least a powdery fluorine resin 23 in a resorcinol-formalin-rubber latex processing liquid, gathering the friction-reducing agent on front-back both sides and between the fibers of the fiber material by drying, subsequently soaking in a second processing liquid comprising a rubber cement, and then drying, and adhering an unvulcanized rubber layer.
