To provide a processed food of rush, capable of maintaining the mineral balance of the body well without excess dietary restriction, mild to the body, regularizing bowel movement and preventing coprostasis by ameliorating intestinal environment while controlling the absorption of excess fat, starch and sugar, also having activity for increasing defecation frequency, exhibiting extreme weight-reducing effects in good balance of nourishments of a living body, and achieving the thinning of the waist; and to provide a method for ameliorating the constitution by the processed food of the rush.

The processed food of the rush comprising the powder of the rush having a prescribed size is produced by subjecting the rush to blanching treatment by dipping the rush in hot water, drying the resultant rush by hot air, and pulverizing the dried rush into a powder. The method for ameliorating the constitution of reducing the waist size by increasing the frequency and amount of the defecation involves continuously administering a prescribed amount of the processed food of the rush after every meal.
