Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing apparatus for an optical fiber end face with which an optical fiber end face can be smoothly cut with high accuracy without resulting in a rough face or without leaving a core-like (navel-like) cut mark by the rotation center of the cutting blade on the optical fiber end face.
SOLUTION: The processing apparatus is configured in such a manner that the cutting blade is present mainly in the radius side from the axial center of the end face of the shank and that the optical fiber end face is brought into contact with the cutting blade and cut by the blade as shifted in the radius side from the rotation center of the end face of the shank. The cutting blade is tilted in the rotating direction.
